When you upload a video to platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, the app overlays its own user interface elements—such as the profile icon, like button, comments, and captions—on top of your video. If your important content (like text or faces) is placed in these "danger zones," it will be hidden from your viewers.
Our Safe Zone Previewer allows you to visualize these overlays before you post, ensuring your call-to-actions and captions are always visible and legible.
Key Safe Zone Tips
Avoid the Right Side
The right side of the screen is where the interactive buttons (Like, Comment, Share) live. Keep important text at least 15-20% away from the right edge.
Watch the Bottom Third
The bottom 25-30% of your video is covered by the username and caption. Avoid placing subtitles or critical imagery in this area.
Check Your Aspect Ratio
Always film in 9:16 vertical format (1080x1920 pixels) for the best results on mobile platforms.
