Prepare a Social Media Post: Crop, Check, Write and Export

A practical sequence for checking the crop, safe zones, caption and file size before publishing.

Prepare one post from start to finish

A finished post needs more than a good image. Its crop, text placement, caption and exported file must work together. Use this sequence to prepare a copy of your original without uploading your draft to a tool server.

1. Choose the destination and crop

Decide whether you are making a feed image, a story or a vertical video. Check the image-size reference, then enter the dimensions in the resizer. Crop fills the frame and trims edges; Fit keeps the whole image and can leave borders. Look at faces and important text before downloading.

2. Check text against platform controls

For vertical media, open the safe-zone previewer and compare the relevant overlays. Keep key labels away from controls and captions. The zones are approximate: app versions, devices and caption length can change the covered area. Test the final draft in the platform before publishing.

3. Write a specific caption

In the caption builder, enter the actual topic and one useful detail. Choose tone and a call to action, then edit the draft. The builder uses templates; it cannot infer your story or verify claims.

For a café opening, a useful detail might be “Doors open Saturday at 8, with small-batch coffee and fresh pastries.” Replace broad slogans with information someone can act on. Remove a call to action if it adds nothing to the post.

4. Count the final text and choose relevant tags

Paste the edited draft into the character counter. Check current requirements in the destination app because Unicode characters and emoji can be counted differently. Use the hashtag shortlist to brainstorm exact subjects and locations, then exclude irrelevant suggestions. It has no live popularity data.

5. Export a delivery copy

If the image must meet a file-size limit, use the compressor. Preserve required dimensions, compare quality, and verify the output size. For multiple images, download a ZIP and inspect each file before scheduling your post.

A final check before publishing

  • The crop preserves faces and important details.
  • Key text avoids the destination’s current controls.
  • The caption contains accurate specifics and sounds like you.
  • Links and calls to action lead somewhere useful.
  • The exported file opens correctly and meets the upload requirements.
  • The original remains available for future edits.
